Atlanta is the capital and most populated city in Georgia and is the ninth largest metropolitan area in the U.S. Today the city is a major business city, and is the primary transportation hub of the Southeastern US, with the Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport. Atlanta also boasts a gross domestic product of $270 billion, ranking 15th among world cities and sixth in the nation. Primary businesses focus on services, finance, information technology, government and higher education.
